Natsuko Hayashida

I was born in Fukuoka City, Kyushu Island, located in the southern part of Japan. I have mainly lived here in Fukuoka until I came to Lisbon.

I started surfing when I was 21 years old, and I have been surfing since then. I am especially into long boarding now.

After graduating from university, I worked at a computer company as a sales manager in Tokyo. Working in a big company in a huge city like Tokyo brought me a lot of stress. My body became weak, and inside, I was not happy at all. 2 years later, I quit the company and became a pilates instructor for 3 years.

At the same time, I met a great woman who became my mentor. She owned a gallery, but she was diagnosed of breast cancer, and I worked with her to support her as a friend and as a manager of her gallery for 7 years. During the 5 years that she was trying to heal from the cancer, we tried many ways to ease her pain, not only physical but also mental. That experience gave me the opportunity to think about the many layers of the human experience. After she passed away, I decided go abroad to see the world, and to know myself more deeply.

I moved in Portugal in April of 2017 and fell in love with this country. I met Gillian in Lisbon, and joined her workshops several times, finally training with her and Mari as a practitioner. I was amazed by her enthusiasm to create a beautiful society as a consious human being.

I have always been curious about the connection between mind and body. My biggest enquiry in life is how our mind affects our body. I am grateful for having my life in Lisbon now, and I am looking forward to meeting new people, sharing experiences with openness. I’d like to support people to create a healthy body, healthy mind, and healthy relationships with other people and the world.
